Stunning lapel badge depicting the cap badge of the Connaught Rangers.
£4.59 inc. VAT

Our Connaught Rangers lapel badge depicts the cap badge used by the Connaught Rangers between 1901 and 1922. The title of Connaught Rangers was originally used by the 88th Regiment of Foot before it was amalgamated with the 94th Regiment of Foot to become the Connaught Rangers in 1881. The old regiments retained some of their individuality as the 88th became the 1st Battalion and the 94th became the 2nd Battalion Connaught Rangers. The Harp and Crown on the badge comes from the 88th. The harp is the Harp of Erin, under which is the title scroll. The badge was produced in brass. Prior to 1901 a similar badge was used but utilising Queen Victoria's Crown at the top of the badge. Our Connaught Rangers lapel badge shows the King's Crown, as used by King George V. In 1922 the Connaught Rangers was disbanded on the creation of the Irish Free State. Approx lapel badge size:
