Royal Fusiliers lapel badge depicting cap badge as worn by most battalions of the Royal Fusiliers.
£4.59 inc. VAT

Our Royal Fusiliers lapel badge depicts the cap badge worn by the Regular, Territorial and most of the Service battalions of the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) between 1901 and 1952. The Royal Fusiliers cap badge shows a grenade and Garter bearing the motto of the Order of the Garter, "Honi Soi Qui Mal Y Pense" (Evil to him who evil thinks) around a central rose. It is said that the rose is derived from a mark cast on old cannons. The date of the badge is set by the crown used which in the case of our Royal Fusiliers lapel badge is the King's Crown. Prior to 1901 a similar badge was used but utilising Queen Victoria's Crown and after the accession of Queen Elizabeth II the crown was changed to the Queen's Crown. The Royal Fusiliers cap badge was also used by the 1st to 4th (City of London) Battalions of the London Regiment but the 25th (Frontiersmen) Battalion and the 38th, 39th, 40th, 41st and 42nd (Jewish) battalions of the Royal Fusiliers did not use this badge. Approx lapel badge size: 25mm x 19mm |
